What is a Liquid Facelift (Non-Surgical Facelift)?

A liquid facelift is an effective method to correct many features of aging utilizing temporary dermal fillers and Botox® or Jeuveau® to relax dynamic fine lines and muscle hyperactivity. This noninvasive facial rejuvenation procedure is ideal for patients who aren't ready for surgery, but still want to achieve a refreshed and youthful appearance. Because these are temporary solutions, patients need routine touch ups to maintain their results. However, many patients find that the benefits of avoiding surgery outweigh the drawbacks of ongoing maintenance visits.

Who is a Candidate for a Liquid Facelift?

A liquid facelift is ideal for patients without the time or resources for a traditional facelift or who are too young for a facelift. Patients presenting with excessive sagging skin, heavy jowling, and severe lines and wrinkles may benefit from more aggressive surgical treatments to correct advanced signs of aging. The consultation is therefore the most important factor to determine one’s candidacy for a liquid facelift.

How Long Does a Liquid Facelift Last?

Liquid facelifts are not permanent but provide a safe, noninvasive solution to help reverse initial signs of aging. The results following a liquid facelift can last several months up to 1-2 years depending upon the products used.  Some treatments such as BOTOX® or Jeuveau® last 3-4 months, while the dermal fillers (Restylane®, Juvéderm®, and Sculptra®) may last up to 1-2 years.

Although the results of a liquid facelift are temporary, they will not fade right away. Strategic “touch up” injections scheduled over time can extend the longevity of the result.

What to Expect During a Liquid Facelift?

After a consultation to discuss your aesthetic concerns, a customized treatment plan is mutually agreed upon to address the facial anatomy. Local anesthesia is applied which ensures comfort during treatment. The treatment lasts 30-45 minutes in most cases, with the results of your liquid facelift appearing immediately. However, improvements will continue to be seen over 3 weeks as the Botox starts to work and swelling disappears over the following days. No recovery time is necessary, and most patients return to normal activities right away.
